Small Business Quote of the Week—Frank W. Woolworth

This weeks’s quotes come from the founder of Woolworth’s, one of America’s first five and dime stores and a man who knew a little something about starting and growing a successful business:

“I am the world’s worst salesman, therefore, I must make it easy for people to buy.”

“Dreams never hurt anybody if he keeps working right behind the dream to make as much of it as real as you can.”

“We would rather have one man or woman working with us than three merely working for us.”

I am very disapointed with this logomaker. I made a logo thinking that it would be mine and I could
do what I wanted to. Like resize it, change the color. Things like that. Too my shock I find that
I can’t change anything about it. Not even resize for a bus card. I paid $59.00 for that logo and feel it is mine. I also want a (c) copyright (c) on it, and your logomaker won’t let you put that on your logo you purchast yourself. I am discusted. I think I should have all right to my logo. Now I can’t use it for my business cards and envelopes. Please RSVP

Hi Audrey. We’re sorry that you’re disappointed by our tool. But you should know you can do all the things you say you can’t.

Our tool allows you to do just about anything you want to do to your logo before you purchase it. Purchasing the logo finalizes a design so we can give you a file of your logo. It’s not possible to give you a file of your logo that you can easily change—changing your logo requires software that can update and recreate your design and re-save it as a new file.

Rest assured, you can change the logo an unlimited number of times as you work on it in our design tool. Choose from millions of colors, thousands of icons, and more than 50 fonts. Some customers use the second line of text in order to place a “TM” or registration symbol on their logo. We recommend that you use a TM rather than a copyright symbol.

You should also know that when you purchase your logo, you get several different sizes for different applications like business cards, websites, invoices, etc. So you should have a file that will work. And the cost is just $49.

While you can’t easily change the file you receive for the free web-ready logo, once you purchase your high-resolution files, you can do anything you want with your logo. Simply open the .eps file with design software like Adobe Illustrator and you can add anything you would like including a TM, new colors, different layouts, etc.

Again, we’re very sorry that you haven’t enjoyed your experience with out tool.
