Small Business Quote of the Week—Nolan Bushnell

This week’s quotes are from Nolan Bushnell, a man who has founded more than 20 companies including Atari and Chuck E. Cheese’s. He’s widely thought of as one of the founding fathers of video games and was named to Newsweek’s list of 50 Men Who Changed America. Imagine starting more than 20 companies!

The quotes are similar and affirm what we’ve been saying here for a long time… if you want to start a business, just do it.

“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”

“Everyone who’s ever taken a shower has an idea. It’s the person who gets out of the shower, dries off and does something about it who makes a difference.”

—Nolan Bushnell
