Creating a logo for a pizza restaurant

Nantucket Pizza Bakery wanted a modern yet fun logo design. They opted with a Sans Serif style font with capitalized lettering. The font is square and therefore easy to read. They also opted for a bold red color that reminds us of pizza sauce! The icon — which sits behind the business name — is a geometric swirl that reminds us of someone twirling a pizza in the air. While most pizza joints will create a logo using a pizza icon, Nantucket Pizza Bakery decided to make their restaurant logo more abstract.

How to be a successful business owner

We asked Denise, a founder of the company, how the business was started? She tells us it all started right out of her kitchen.

“We have always loved to bake so we started testing recipes in our home-based commercial kitchen and voila… we think we have developed the most delicious New York style pizza dough and sweet baked goods on the island. This business is soon to be a dream fulfilled after a long corporate business career.”

“Begin with the dream that’s in your heart and from there, develop your brand. Always clearly know who you are and build everything starting from that place—the top down. Starting with your brand, develop your products, services, operations, and budget. Never stray from that center line. This is why your brand and the logo that supports it is so critical to your success.  It consistently says to everyone who you are, what you stand for and what you do.”
