You&#8217;ve probably heard the story before.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week NPR host Michelle Norris did a short story on how it all happened. It&#8217;s worth a listen. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2011\/06\/23\/137376121\/nike-swoosh-designer-discusses-her-iconic-creation\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Click here to listen or read the transcript<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Not knowing how much she should charge, Carolyn Davidson, the designer who created the now famous swoosh (it&#8217;s a stylized wing), asked for $35.<\/p>\n<p>Today it&#8217;s one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/21-logo-evolutions-pepsi-cola-apple-nike-nokia\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\" rel=\"noopener\">best-known logos in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amazing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.logomaker.com\/blog\/2013\/02\/25\/10-quotes-for-small-business-from-nike-founder-phil-knight\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(Opens a new window)\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil Knight<\/a>, Nike&#8217;s founder, didn&#8217;t go to a big ad agency or design firm to get his logo. As a struggling entrepreneur, he did the best that he could with the resources he had. Then he poured everything he had into making the logo memorable.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re starting a business, you can probably relate.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s still possible to get a great logo for a reasonable price.
